Understanding and Addressing Suicide Risk

This course focuses on understanding and addressing suicide risk by training participants to identify warning signs and utilize risk assessment techniques. It covers strategies for developing effective intervention plans to support individuals at risk of suicide. Participants will learn how to respond appropriately in crisis situations, providing immediate support and guiding individuals towards professional assistance. This course is ideal for professionals in the community services sector seeking to enhance their ability to support individuals at risk of suicide.

The course will consist of 2 workshops, each with a duration of 4 hours.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this course, you must be currently employed in the community services sector with relevant work experience.
Course Information

Delivery Mode: Live sessions, available either in person or via Zoom. On-site facilitation at a workplace can be arranged upon request.

Minimum Participants: A minimum of 20 participants is required for the course to proceed.

Assessments: Participants will be required to complete theory and scenario-based assessments, to be submitted within 4 weeks of workshop completion.

Certification: A Statement of Attainment will be issued upon submission and satisfactory assessment results.

Facilitator
The course will be facilitated by our Course Coordinator, Rebecca O’Sullivan (BPsych, GradDipFDRP, GradDipMgmt, DipYouthWk, DipCouns, CertIVTAE, Cert III IS), who brings extensive expertise and experience in the field.
