Trauma-Informed Care

This course focuses on understanding the profound impact of trauma on individuals and equips learners with techniques to provide compassionate and effective support. It emphasizes the importance of creating a safe and supportive environment that acknowledges and respects each person’s unique experiences. Participants will learn how to identify signs of trauma, respond appropriately, and foster healing by integrating trauma-informed principles into their care practices. This course is ideal for professionals working in community services sector.

Duration
The course will consist of 2 workshops, each with a duration of 4 hours.
Eligibility
To be eligible for this course, you must be currently employed in the community services sector with relevant work experience.
Course Information

Delivery Mode: Live sessions, available either in person or via Zoom. On-site facilitation at a workplace can be arranged upon request.

Minimum Participants: A minimum of 20 participants is required for the course to proceed.

Assessments: Participants will be required to complete theory and scenario-based assessments, to be submitted within 4 weeks of workshop completion.

Certification: A Statement of Attainment will be issued upon submission and satisfactory assessment results.

Facilitator
The course will be facilitated by our Course Coordinator, Rebecca O’Sullivan (BPsych, GradDipFDRP, GradDipMgmt, DipYouthWk, DipCouns, CertIVTAE, Cert III IS), who brings extensive expertise and experience in the field.
